Message from Republican Congress Candidate Andy Barr
First and foremost, I want to thank you for the invitation to join WROCK Thursday evening during the candidate forum. I enjoyed being able to see many of you and talk about issues facing the 6th district and our nation.
The Barr for Congress campaign team has been busy on the campaign trail over the past few weeks. I continued my Jobs Tour, recently visiting businesses in Harrison, Bath, Nicholas and Fleming Counties.
In addition to the Jobs Tour, I was honored to receive the Guardian of Seniors’ Rights award from the 60 Plus Association, and received endorsements from the National Vietnam & Gulf War Veterans Coalition and the Kentucky Right to Life.
Monday evening I participated in the KET 6th District Primary Debate. I thought it was a good discussion about the need for fundamental change in Washington and the importance of defeating Ben Chandler to help get Kentuckians back to work.
WROCK Member Shirley Wiseman wins the Ronald Reagan Award!
The Ronald Reagan Award is the highest honor presented by the Republican Party of Fayette County. It is given to recognize an individual who has upheld the conservative ideals of our party and who has contributed in a significant way for many years. This year’s award winner moved to Lexington many years ago and one of the first calls she made was to the Republican Headquarters to volunteer her services. She continues to volunteer in grassroots campaigning for Republican nominees. She has served as a precinct officer, an Executive Committee member, chairman of several committees including the Reagan Day Dinner committee, delegate to district and state conventions, and an alternate and a delegate to the Republican National Convention. She has organized and hosted fundraising events for candidates. She is an active member of WROCK and has attended several NFRW Conventions. She is a multi-state business owner. She is the only women to ever serve as President of the National Association of Homebuilders. From 1982-86, during the Reagan Administration she served in the Department of Housing and Urban Development. She exemplifies true conservatism in every way. It is our pleasure to present the Ronald Reagan Award to Shirley Wiseman.
Elect Don Butler to State Senate
If you live in Kentucky’s 9th Senate district (Allen, Barren, Edmonson, Green, Metcalfe and Simpson counties) you have an important decision to make. If you don’t like to have your taxes increased and your state’s debt increased beyond our ability to pay, you need a new state Senator.
If you want a public servant who responds to you and listens to your concerns, you need a new state Senator. And if you want an elected representative to shake up the good old boy system rather than becoming part of it, you need a new state Senator.
In order to make that happen, I need your help. Please invite all registered Republicans who live in our 9th Senate district to this very important “event.”
Thank you,
Don
