WROCK Officers for 2012
President – Donna Davidson
Donna joined WROCK to become more involved with the Republican Party at the local level and was elected to the board in 2006. She has served as the recording secretary, treasurer, vice president and currently serves as president. In 2008, while still on the WROCK board, she was elected to serve on the executive committee of the Republican Party of Fayette County. Feeling she wanted to do more for the party, she volunteered in 2011, and was elected, to serve on the board of the Kentucky Federation of Republican Women as the 6th District vice governor. Donna is Republican-born and bred and has always been involved in politics. During her years with the U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce, she participated in the national Legislative Days in Washington DC and served as a small business advocate. The Junior Chamber of Commerce was also lucky enough to have Donna as their local chapter president and state regional director. The Idaho Jaycees were fortunate enough to have Donna be their state president. Donna is the recipient of the Charles Kulp, the Clint Dunagan, the Alan Whitfield, and the Clayton Frost awards by the U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce. In 1994, she was awarded a U.S. Junior Chamber senatorship. During her service with the U.S. Junior Chamber, Donna began serving non-profit organizations. The most important factor for her is making a difference in her community and to the organizations she serves. When Donna is not giving her time and energy to her non-profit work and political involvement, she and her husband are small business owners of Davidson Financial Services. They have three married children and seven “awesome, fabulous and wonderful” grandchildren. Donna’s mantra is “do unto others…” She says she will always strive to treat people the way that she would like them to treat her. Donna’s goal is to give back; be it time, money, or knowledge. She says that because she’s been blessed, she’s grateful and wants to just pass it along.
Vice President – Kathy Stocks
Kathy is from Florida. She and her husband, Ron, own Elemental Analysis, Inc. and have been in business for 33 years. Kathy’s been a member of WROCK since 2007 and was our Recording Secretary until last year when she became Vice President. Kathy used to be a very successful Investment Banker, but is most proud of the investment she’s made in her grown sons: Ryan, Brandon and Jason and being the grandma to 3 yr old Preston. Kathy’s most recent accomplishment is being the campaign manager for our candidate for Secretary of State, Bill Johnson. Although Bill did not win the election, Kathy advises that the experience of leading a campaign was something she’ll never forget and that she has learned so much. Kathy says that the greatest part of being a member of WROCK is the many, great, life-long friends she made since joining, and that it’s been a sincere pleasure to be in the company of such hard working, dedicated women.
Director of Programs & Education – Karen Mundy
Karen is from St. Albans originally, but lives in Lexington with her husband of 38 years, Roy Mundy. They are the proud parents of Monteia, a recent Wake Forest graduate. Karen is the Principal Broker for Haymaker/Bean Real Estate. She has been a realtor since 1985, and has sold real estate in WV, VA, NJ and KY. Karen loves helping the American Dream come true and has earned several accreditations. She is a member of the Lexington Bluegrass Association of Realtors, the Ky Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors and the Homebuilders Association of Lexington. Karen serves on the Lexington Bluegrass Association of Realtors Board of Directors, LBAR’s Government Affairs Committee; she’s the Past President of the Realtor Community Housing Foundation and serves as Vice Chair of HBAL’s Home Builder’s Care. She was also appointed by former Mayor Newberry to the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government’s Land Management Purchase Development Rights Commission. When Karen is not serving in her community, she and her husband love exhibiting their collector cars at classic car shows. Karen loves her Shelby Cobra and driving really fast! One of her favorite quotes is “Work like you don’t need the money, Love like you’ve never been hurt and Dance like no one is looking!”
Director of Campaigns – Kim Hamlin
Kim Hamlin is originally from Detroit, but was raised in Barbourville, Ky. Kim is married to a Lexington native, Steve Hamlin. They have a 23 yr old daughter living in Tennessee, and are currently raising their 11 yr old niece, Danielle, who attends Lexington Christian Academy. Kim volunteers at LCA when she’s able to escape from her full-time job as a Key Accounts Benefit Specialist at BB&T Insurance Services. Kim is a US Army veteran and since part of her time in the service was overseas in South Korea, she became eligible for VFW membership. She was very proud to become a Lifetime Member. Kim used her Montgomery GI bill benefit to attend Eastern Kentucky University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Science. Kim is the first to admit that she wasn’t always a Republican. When she was 18, she registered as a Democrat. It became clear as she grew older that the Democratic Party did not align with her values. Kim blames the public education system and believes it is a tool of indoctrination. She is passionate about educating others about the truth of American history and the role of God in the founding of our nation. She’s a proud member of the Ky 9/12 group because of their mission: to provide a forum for individuals grounded in the 9 principles and 12 values, to foster an environment to inspire and empower self-governing leaders through education, independence, and sacrifice with a firm reliance on Divine Providence. Kim is proud to partner with WROCK because of their mission of promoting an informed public through education and activity, increasing the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government and inspiring the Republican Party through promotion of its objectives, principles and policies. Kim believes that America is the last stand for liberty on earth and that education and mentorship is the key to perseverance.
